Actually I think the failed land promise that Farrell mention may be even stronger. Here is how I set that one up, with the accompaning verses. Others may find it useful/interesting too:
********************** <<God (and or Joshua) were to utterly destroy ALL of Israel's enemies. Israel possessed ALL the land.>>
And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel. And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the LORD hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan. The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath said. And the LORD shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed. Deut. 31:1-4
<<ALL "came to pass" and they DID possess all the land.>>
So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded. Joshua 10:40
And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded. As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. Josh. 11:12, 15
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. Josh. 11:23
And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west,...; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions; In the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites:... The king Aphek, one:... Josh. 12:7-8, 18.
And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. Josh. 21:43-45 also Josh. 24:11, 18

[An elucidating excerpt from, Is It God's Word, by Joseph Wheless, pg. 169: "All these oft-exterminated but ever conquering Seven Nations continued for centuries to possess and dwell in the Promised Land... War between the Soldiers of Yahveh and the Seven Nations was continuous under Joshua; was hardly interrupted during the 400-odd years of the Judges; was Saul's chief occupation and the occasion of his death; and was so incessant and sanguinary during David's whole reign... As late as Solomon, 600 years after the "Conquest" and extermination by Joshua, these Nations still dwelt in "thy land";..."]
