Mormonism is NOT Christianity

The issue is not, "Is X a Christian according to Don Morgan's or Jeff Lowder's definition of Christianity?" I don't think one should accept a definition just because Don and I promote it. Rather, the question is, "Is X a Christian according to objective evidence?" I think we can objectively determine whether a person is a Christian using the historical definition of the word.

As far as Mormons are concerned, I'm strongly convinced that Mormonism is incompatible with Christianity. I used to think Christians were arrogant when they argued that Mormons are not Christians, but now I agree with them. There are several reasons why Mormons are not Christians, but my strongest objection is that Mormons do not believe in the God of Christianity; Mormons are polytheists. There is a quote in Mormonism that goes something like, "Just as God was once a man, so can men become a God." Any good Mormon male is promised they will become a god in control of their own universe in the afterlife. According to Mormon doctrine, Jesus was originally an ordinary human being like you and me, but because he was a good Mormon, he became a God and created our universe. In contrast, Christianity is a monotheistic religion. I therefore conclude that Christianity and Mormonism are incompatible.
