Not so. People can make the bible say what ever they want it to, it's been done over and over ad infinitum.
Those of us who reject it base our rejection on :
1.) The problem of an O & O god being inconsistent with
(a.) the existence of evil and
(b) freewill
2.) The epistemological absurdity or undecidablility of anything supernatural.
3.) The problem of logical contrarys. Since the foundations of each religion are mutually exclusive, they cannot all be true, but they can all be false. And then #2 above kicks back in.
4.) Christian doctine has the additional hurdle of a supposidly O & O god who is purportidly also benevolent imposing infinite punishments on finite beings--who only exist upon his sufference in the first place. (Not to mention being instrumental in excersing his will in many places. So you have god punishing his tools for doing their job. Kinda weird, sorta like punishing your saw for cutting wood.)
