It Seems Hard to Understand, Farrell (to Farrell)

And if the NIV translation is doing the same thing as Farrell, then it
should be criticized, although I notice it uses the word "possibly" and
doesn't state anything categorically. Farrell, of course, does when he
states that there IS contradiction - he must therefore KNOW where Mount Hor
and Moserath were.

TILL
Let's suppose that we had a book similar to the Book of Mormon, which
purported to contain a divine revelation about the wanderings of a people
called the "Bagoorites." If the record reported that they camped at Jambo,
then went to Habur and camped, then went to Zatoo and camped, then went to
Burbo and camped, then with to Bag-jithahorum and camped, then went to
Xooloo and camped, then went to Jerko and camped, then went to Arnunah,
where Kookoo, one of their leaders died and was buried, but another section
of this record said that Kookoo died at Jambo (the first camp site in the
listing), why would anyone have to know where Jambo and Arnunah were located
in order to know that the record contained a discrepancy, IF THE SIZE OF THE
AREA THEY WERE TRAVELING IN WERE KNOWN AND IF THE RECORD GAVE INFORMATION
ENOUGH TO DETERMINE THAT THERE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ENOUGH OF THESE PEOPLE TO
FORM A 9-MILE-LONG COLUMN WHEN THEY TRAVELED AND TO REQUIRE A 9-SQUARE-MILE
AREA FOR THEM TO CAMP IN EACH TIME THEY STOPPED?
How much more so would the discrepancy be apparent if the locations of
Xooloo and Jerko were known, and they were separated by 70 miles?

(DAVE 5/6) Farrell: Much more. There certainly could be a discrepancy if
the locations were known. Your deductions form the basis of the rest of the
argument you posit - I am interested in facts, Farrell, not your little
columns of people and "suppose" arguments. What evidence do you have for
either the locations of Moserath or of Mount Hor? Nothing. Yet you claim
they are a contradiction. Knowing the actual locations would be a lot more
convincing than a tired old skeptics biased reasoning - just a little
evidence would be nice.

Now I assume your next step will be to say, "well, YOU are the one who says
they are the same place". And I understand how you like to pass the buck.
First of all, I have said I don't know whether they were or not, based on
what I know. As a resul, I couldn't prove anything either way (much the
same as you really). However, "suppose" I am not a believer in anything,
and ask you the same question: how do you know these places were separated?
YOU are the one asking me to defend a contradiction that ISN'T EVEN THERE!

How do you expect me to "defend" it when you can't even "support" it?

Regards.

Dave.

response would be to marvel that there IS a way, and accept it with humility
