TERRY
Hi Michael
This will be a quick email message, because I have to get ready for a
bible class later tonight, so I will write more later.
1. Yes, I can answer your question about Matthew and Luke, and I will do
so
later.
2.>> I would like for Terry to prove that the people whom Yahweh allegedly
ordered the Israelites to exterminate were "some of the most depraved and
wicked people around."<< "Excuse Me" but you tell your friend to prove
to
me that the people were not some of the most depraved and wicked people
around, you tell him that. I have read (and most of the time that is all
must of us can say anyway, is that we have read something somewhere after
all were is it that we get most of the information we get, by reading it
from some source) that there are artifacts from diggings and other things
that scientist have found to substantiate the bible writing concerning the
depraved state of some of these people during that time. If he would
like I
will try to find them. He was not there to see the people (maybe a good
thing) neither was I, but I believe they were depraved because the bible
says so, I believe the bible as a whole because I have not yet find any
reason NOT to believe it. So why do I have reason not to believe this
part
of it, so You tell your friend to prove different why should the burden of
proof be on me?
Yes, I know that the Israelites did some of the same things. I find that
interesting that your friend says that the Israelites did the same thing
well, tell me how does he know that, I could ask him to prove to me how
does he know the Israelites did the same thing. He tries to make a point
then uses the exact same point he had problems with to try to make
another
one. That is one of the things that bothers me about this, people pick
out
parts of the bible that fits there beliefs but they have problems with
something that does not fit there beliefs. >>Terry will probably resort to
the fundamentalist quibble that even though the Israelites sacrificed
their
children, the prophets and priests condemned this practice<< WRONG>> Many
of the Prophets and priests did condemned this practice but the people did
not listen too them and to what Jehovah said. If they had listen to
Jehovah
God and executed judgement against these people, in the first place they
may
not have been affected and influence by the same people. They were
affected
themselves by the same false religion of these people, they were not doing
this before they came in contact with them, they should have obey Jehovah
but they didn't; Jehovah was not happy about that either and that is why
he
punished them severely and finally gave up on them and made a new covenant
in favor of Christians although you will not be able to convince the Jews
of
that. Tell your friend that I and not a fundamentalist and I have a lot
of
problems with them also. I hope your friends does not think I am without
compassion, I like to think I have lots of loving kindness and compassion,
that is something that all Christians should be working on, the fruits of
Gods Spirit, which include Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Kindness,
Goodness, FAITH, mildness and Self-Control, Galatians 6:22,23. I
certainly
know I am liking in some of these, but I am trying to improve.
However, I am a little annoyed (but not too much) by you bringing so many
other people into this. I don't mind you talking to others about the
things
which I am saying because that is my commission to preach about Christ. I
do not want it to be a cirrus, and if it doesn't, I won't let it bother
me.
3. I may indeed checkout your internet discussion, but I don't have the
time to be consumed in long discussion with people that are close minded
and
all they seek to do is justify there own believes. Nevertheless I may
check
it out.
4. I am not worried about Lions and Tigers as long as they are not real
lions and tigers; and even if they were, I remember the bible saying that
Daniel had an encounter with Lions and he came of victorious. What, then,
shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who will be against us.
Romans 8:31
=======================================================
What are the facts? Again and again and again - what are the facts? Shun
wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what "the stars
foretell," avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind
the
unguessable "verdict of history" - what are the facts, and to how many
decimal places? You pilot always into an unknowable future; facts are
your
single clue. Get the facts!
