Forgive me if this is old news, but I'm new to the list! Mark 3:18 lists =
Thaddaeus as one of the original 12 apostles. So does Matthew 10:3 =
,with the footnote that Thaddaeus was also called Lebbaeus.(RSV) Luke =
6:13-16, however, _doesn't_ include Thaddaeus/Lebbaeus, but in verse 16 =
states that "Judas the son of James" was one of the original 12. =
(....without saying whether this Judas was the son of "James, the son =
of Zebedee", or "James, the son of Alphaeus.") =20
I can't find anything at all in my Cruden's concordance about old =
Thaddaeus, but I can find references to both Judas Iscariot and some =
other Judas' obviously NOT Iscariot. My questions, then, are these: =
What happened to poor old Thaddaeus, who was this "other" Judas, and =
what does this very obvious discrepancy say about the gospels all =
agreeing with each other? =20
Isn't this one of the most basic pieces of information that the inerrant =
Word of God should be able to get right? I mean here's this "inspired =
truth" that centers around Jesus and his 12 buddies wandering around =
doing their thing, and yet the bible can only agree on the names =
(although not nicknames) of 11 of the twelve! =20
There's a lot more to this, but I will leave it here for now.
