CREA Unfortunately, that explanation disintegrates when it encounters the utterance at Genesis 22:12, where the "Angel of the LORD", acting as a mouthpiece for old YHWH relays the following statement: [22:12] "And he said, 'Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thee anything unto him: FOR NOW I KNOW that thou fearest God, seeing that thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son FROM ME."
