RON In the first place I dont expect Genesis to be a scientific textbook. But interstingly both light and matter appear to have been created on the same "day". Notice that in this 1st phase the earth was "formless and void". Even if there was a big bang, there had to be matter to go "bang" if I understand properly. But the most important message of Genesis, as I understand it, is to pagans, that God created the very things they worshipped. The creation story follows the order of the designation of the days of the Babylonian week to these Gods. At least that's what I read somewhere. Any scientific insights would be secondary if not coincidental. The important point, which contradicts the steady state theory, is that there was an origin of the universe and God is the Creator. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
