BRIDEAN A better approximation of pi is 355/113 = 3.14159292... which was used by the ancient greeks (I think). It is also easy to remember because if you write down the first three odd numbers (113355) twice and divide it in the middle, you get 113/355. Then just reverse the numbers. There are no fractions for pi that are any more accurate than 355/113 without involving integers that are five digits long.
