 Do Animals Go to Heaven?

"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one
thing befalleth them: as the one dieth,
so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no
preeminence above a beast: for all is
vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust
 again." Ecclesiastes 3:19-20

I'm not a literary expert, but in my limited mind this excerpt has nothing
to do with heaven, but with man's ego. I could be wrong, and would gladly
admit it if someone knows better. But, in fact not only does it not have
anything to do with heaven, I think it reflects the OT view that there is
 no life after death.>>

Am I missing something here? Is not heaven the place for people to live after
they die? If there is no life after death, there is neither heaven nor hell.
