Charles sez... The error is 1.4 parts in 30 or 5%. It's like 9.5 commandments are close enough. It's like 1000 years of rule means 950 or 1050... I'm not sure which. The bible babblers may wany to cover THEIR ass, but in the bi-polar world THEY have attempted to create to control others, Black is BLACK and WHITE is WHITE, RIGHT is RIGHT and WRONG is WRONG, and 30 cubits is WRONG. As I have indicated before, if this were the ONLY error in the bible, which it is not, or if this were the smallest error in the bible, which it is not, or if this were a typical error in the bible (sans stupidity... which is rampant), which it is not, then the casual reader might not notice. Problem is there are errors almost everywhere you look in that collection of cultural borrowings, myths, fables, bed-time stories, and outright zenophobic embellishments. The universe was created by a turtle than swam to the bottom of the sea and scooped up mud--get over it. Pass the peace pipe, please.
