BAKKE
>From a purely logical point of view, the first statement is the most
accurate. This is because the Universe certainly exists no matter how
complex it is, while there is no evidence for the existence of a God of
*any* complexity.
We have evidence of finitely complex events which occur without causes
-- such as radioactive decay and virtual particles. If the Universe is
also defined to be finitely complex, then it is reasonable to conclude
that its creation could also be an uncaused event.
On the other hand, we have no evidence of anything that is infinitely
complex. Therefore, there is no basis upon which to conclude that any
such thing could be self-creating.
