This is how my dictionary (Webster's New World Dictionary) defines
murder:
noun 1. the unlawful and malicious or premeditated killing of one human
being by another; also, any killing done while committing some other
felony, as rape or robbery
verb 1. to kill unlawfully and with malice 2. to kill inhumanely or
barbarously, as in warfare.
I think those definitions describe God's behavior quite well.
Matthew Bell
There is most certainly a difference between killing and murdering. It
is
not considered murder to kill in war, nor in some countries to kill as a
punishment for certain crimes, nor in the right circumstances to kill in
defence of one's own life or the life (lives) of another (others), nor
for
law enforcement officers to kill where necessary. You need to show that
God's act in Genesis 7 or anywhere else was murder and not lawful
killing,
the law of course being Himself, as the ten commandments were not
established until after Genesis 7 occurred.

You are grasping at invisible straws, my friend. To begin with, I think
Farrell made a good case against your claim that the verse, "thou shall
not kill," should have been translated as "thou shall not murder." You
have chosen to go with "thou shall not murder" to try and build a case
to support your God's actions. Next, you are careful to select just the
right definition to try and fool people into believing that what your
God did was not murder. Your next step was to show that "murder" has
different meanings depending on the laws of specific countries. Well,
according to the laws of my country, Canada, and of the United States,
and probably of the Amalakites who were ruthlessly murdered, your God is
a murderer.

I have already stated that I am not too concerned with this point. Jesus
had enough 'balls' to die for the likes of you, now that it saying
something.

I care a thousand times more for the men who died defending my country
during the two world wars, than I do for little wimpy "please don't let
me die" Jesus. But if we are going to go around worshipping
mythological characters, I'll take Hercules over Jesus any day.
