STB's " I apologize"(was Gawd playing favorites, or is he, Shawn?)

POOBAH (past)
No doubt you will too someday if you actually try to participate on any
topic.
Jason:
No doubt? You have strong faith in your assumption of me, don't you?
POOBAH
Yup, I do. And it's based on my personal experience (irony alert). You are
free to prove me wrong though by responding civilly with logical arguments
and not leaving in a huff.
POOBAH (past)
As I can
see it, we have two choices: either Shawn was filled with the "words of the
Spirit of the Father," as Matt10 indicates above, in which case your God
was evidently a foul-mouthed brat at some point (and not very convincing, I
might add), or the Holy Spirit didn't give damn about poor Shawn's trials,
and the verses Tim quoted above evidently are false.
Jason:
No, there are three. Till refused to let him off the list. So he decided
that he would be a pest on purpose and make Till get tired of his posts.
That way Till would let him off the list. It worked.
POOBAH
As usual you dodge the subject. Matt 10:19 says, "When they bring you to
trial" which is certainly against one's will. Your third point sheds no
light on the question of whether the Holy Spirit was speaking through Shawn.
Why is it that the Holy Spirit chose not to speak through Shawn, Jason?
Matt10 seems to imply he would. Or perhaps He did? Simple questions, try to
answer them this time.
Jason (past):
"If a Christian and an atheist both had guns pointed to their heads, and you
could only save one of them, which one would you choose?"
POOBAH (past)
Jesus H. Christ, Jason, what in the Hell is that supposed to mean? To quote
William Blake, "As a man is, so he sees." We see what your Christian love
has done for you. Between your lack of critical thought and obsession with
violence, you are one scary young man.
Jason:
It's none of your buisness if you don't want to answer it. You make an
assertion about my character just because you think i'm "obsessed with
violence". Is a police officer "obsessed" with violence? Are people who are
in the Army, Marines, Navy Seals, ect.?
POOBAH
I know full well what your question attempts to imply, "Who leads a better
life, a Christian or an atheist?" But that's not how you chose to frame it;
your question involves execution & fear, and a not so subtle implication as
to what you think should be done to those atheists whom you don't think lead
productive lives. I think it is reasonable for me to say that given there
are other ways to frame the statement you did, the choice you made says
something about your psychology. Unless of course there's some clever irony
that I'm missing, but you don't strike me as the type.
Oh, and to answer your question so you don't have an easy way out again, I
wouldn't base my decision on the criteria you've given, nor would I take
part in your foul "Sophie's choice."
Jason :
My "lack" of critical thought is only your opinion. It's an opinion i don't
want or need.
POOBAH
It's not my opinion, Jason, it's been demonstrated by you over & over again.
Point out a single argument you've made here that didn't involve a logical
fallacy. Given that you've been hanging about here for a while, it is not an
unreasonable conclusion that you won't ever make a single, logically
coherent statement. Whether you need that criticism or not is your opinion.
POOBAH (past)
P.S. Since your quoting this every time, are you going to continue to dodge
my question of last week? Does science say that e coli arose spontaneously?
Jason:
Maybe it was analogy? Did you give that possibility a whirl?
POOBAH
Now you're lying to yourself. Go back & read that article and show me quotes
indicating that the e coli example was meant as "an analogy." Then tell me
what it is suppose to be an analogy for. That doesn't even make any sense.
The article was not using an analogy, but a strawman. It "showed" how
impossible it would be for an e coli to arise spontaneously by chance, but
that's not what evolution claims, so who do you suppose they're trying to
convince? Surely not educated people who actually understand science and
see through the argument immediately... so that leaves you. Why do you
suppose that the author felt the need to use a false example if there were
actually real problems with evolution to attack? Why do you think the author
felt the need to lie to you (since you are who the article was written for)?
I'm very serious here, Jason. If you really want to examine the truth, start
here, because this is an area where your leaders are demonstratably
dishonest. Watch out, though, because if you look too closely, the whole
house of cards will come crashing down.
